So was seriously contemplating on giving up…but I’m just to stubborn for that maybe tomorrow.
I don’t know the thought of losing really doesn’t appeal to me.
So I will just relay my day to you until I really have the energy to write something productive.
Ryan come in today for my birthday weekend which is really nice I love to spend time with him and I love Spokane and showing him around. I have such a good time with him here, since there is actually stuff to do. I matted some of the art work that he got from the Comicon today too and he seemed very pleased with my work.
I dint get to shoot any cool places today with my internship all I did was take head shoots of the staff and then I offered to help with organizing the new shipment of The Family Circle which came in today only two of my photographs are in that because they have been working on it all year it only being like a annual. But the next issue of North west woman’s comes out next week and I well make sure to grab a ton of copies for that family and all I did get an introduction in the family guide though under fabulous interns which I was the only one. so go me.
Other than that I got a lot of happy b-days and come home tierd as hell and just wanting to take a nap to tomorrow we are going to have to clean cook and stuff for the party it should really be a blast. After that me and Ryan are going to go to Blue Fish cus my boss at the internship gave us like a fifty dollar gift certificate for it and a bunch of free drinks at RAW which well be fun to see the guys that I shot there again they are really interesting people well going to go to sleep now.

waaa
heading over to Rachel’s in just a little while for our Wei night I got pineapple and carrots with low fat ranch to go over there with. There was going to be like six of us now there is only four but o well less competition to bet at Mario Kart.
I also went a picked up 90 dollars worth of groceries for my party on Saturday which should be a blast hope to god it doesn’t rain that would suck. I got a bunch of party decorations too and am feeling really achieved. This will be my first party that I put together all by myself. That means doing all the shopping and decoration not to mention those invitations which came out pretty cool. Still no Martha Stewart work though.
These blogs have been pretty lame lately just relaying my day but there is nothing I really want to talk about right know at least and I really just need to get enough words so that I can go to Rachel’s I might not even spell check what a scary though right. The things I spell wrong I can believe.
I’m almost done with my web site had a few bumps on the way but am pretty ok with it. It’s not something that I would really put up in real life but for school it’s ok. I really like my opening gif though. Very proud of it.
making myself a calson that I picked up at wal-mart before I go over just to fill the old tummy.
Had IHOP today but that can only go so far and I have been ramming around and running things and school stuff and such. Plus comic booking. Although I don’t know what’s coming out this week I heard something about a new kick ass and saw green lantern secret origins. but haven’t picked anything up yet. Curse having all this work to do. I barley have time to read my comic books.

agian screw the man
Finally I copped off my hair it was getting so long and heavy I have no idea how my friend jenny deals with it hers is done to at least her butt. mine was just to the middle of my back.
I did a lot of work on my web site today and that was the most exciting bit.
My laptop charger went out at me if I fuss with it for a good 15 minutes so that it shows that its charging and then try not to let if move it will charge. Which really sucks. The part that is broken too is the connection to the power park going to the laptop. And get this I went to circuit city to get it fixed they told me to go to another place so I went there and he told me that my one year Toshiba insurance and my five hundred dollar circuit city insurance doesn’t cover that part cus it’s not a manufacture problem. Well I think it is they made a crapy battery in the laptop so that I have to plug it in every 90 minutes wearing out the freaking plug stupid right.
I hate the man he pisses me off.
I got all my invitations for my graduation and birthday done all hand addressed and written yea that took me a fucking long ass time.
I finally got some company over so know I’m not going as crazy anymore although I can’t wait tell tomorrow’s Wei night get it it’s we and wii. Yea I came up with that all by myself.
Only three more days tell I’m 21 and about two and a half weeks tell I graduate so the stress is on full time hard ass stress. I can’t believe this is almost over. I had a really great time hear in Spokane being a college student and just hanging with friends and being dorks. I will be sad to leave but excited to start new experiences.

agent number hammy007
I really don’t feel like doing much of anything right now. Even getting to write my blog seems very hard to do. I almost have all my graduation invitations done. And that is the most exciting thing that I have done today besides almost starve myself to death and have a long talk with one of my friend which I have been needing for a long time someone to talk to.
All the prints that were in the contest a little while ago were put one action for a fundraiser for the photo club. I found out that my Spokane panorama went for 31 dollars I think it was the best selling one from the action I didn’t even get placed so good for me at least normal people seem to like my stuff. it is a buyer’s market. My other two prints went for reasonable prices but nothing to grand. I honestly thought that the panorama was one of my weaker photos I guess it show you that you’re your own worst critic right.
Tonight I plan to go to bed early and get the rest of those damn invites done or at lest done enough to envelope them. Then I’ll address them and get them off by Friday I hope. Awww the wonderful and exciting world of Hammy now you know how great it is to be in my shoes…yea not that great.
Saturday is my 21st birthday and I was told by a friend this is my birthday week were I can have as much fun as I want to or something like that. I’m going to try really hard and relax this week while trying to finish some work too. We are most likely going to have a Wii party
Thursday night which sounds like great fun. Just a bunch of crazy photography girls hanging out and playing geeky video games it really sounds great I don’t spend too much time with girls anymore. I think will have a great big party at the end of the semester to celebrate everything
and such. Speaking of end of semester and graduation.
If you are a graduating photography student and want your pictures up in the gallery we will be holding a graduation gallery June 9th tell the 13th I made flyers but need to print them out so. Just make sure to turn in 1-2 matted prints my June 5th with an artist bio or future plane discretion. If you want to put something larger up you will have to supplie your own plane black frame. Anyway turn them in to the Cage and remember if we don’t get enough then it isn’t going to happen.
Shit I think my charger for my laptop is broken got to go.

screw this and that
So totally almost forgot to blog been having a rough day. But it’s all good
Last night we went and watched Narnia Prince Caspine (sp) I thought it was really great and followed the book very thoroughly. The music and animated characters where great too. Narnia movies makes CG look really good. It works well and is worked into the movie like it was born with it. Unlike Indiana Jones. The mouse guard characters were totally as adorable as they should be soo cute and awesome. Ryan pointed out the fact that he like that they were so adorable but were running around in the movie the hole time killing people and stabbing their eyes out.
I love and hate how Christian the movies are I know that the man that wrote the books was a Christian writer and all and they are really good books but do you know what happens in the end do you I dont think you do cus if you did you would…..um be really sad or something.
Anyway they are attaching small kids to this characters in the movies they get curios and go get there parents to buy the books then they read them and find out the ending and swear off reading all together creating a world of illiterate Christian hating babies.
I really enjoyed all but one of the books and that was the last battle were…..should I tell you …… everyone dies…..and Susan doesn’t go to heaven because she lost her belief in “Aslan” who really is just God. But everyone even the kids parents die in a horrific world ending train crash that was caused by the apocalypse. Which not only accord in our world but Narnia as well. Shoot this is making me want to go read the books again to make sure I have everything right.
They were pretty good and nice and short a day’s read so it shouldn’t be too much trouble I have a feeling this summer I will be getting a lot of reading done.
I have started to make my graduation invites since I couldn’t find any I decide to make my own. There ok I’m not Martha Stewart or anything but they get the point across.

so much talking whaaaaa
yesterday we played Mario Kart for the Wii it was totally rocking fun. Actually it only got fun once we went and played it over at Hanks house cus the TV at my parents house has a really bad contrast problem making all the courses really really white we just had to concentrate a little harder though.
I have to say that I don’t like the steering wheel as much as I wanted to, great idea just the need to refine is a little more. I kept trying to drift right and it would go left instead and not as fast of a reaction time between me yanking the wheel and the character actually performing something.
But a really great way to play if your just in it to have fun.
I also went and finally picked myself up an external hard drive since my Lap top only had like 20 GB left of 150. It was a pretty good by 500GB for like a hundred dollars probably could of found something cheaper online but I just don’t like shopping online.
Today I got to run around and see if I can find some graduation invitations to send out.
I’m graduation on Friday the Thirteenth of June at 3:30 doesn’t that just sound like a whole lot of demon worshiping or something going on. It’s like they want everyone who graduates to have some type of tripping accident or something. Damn it’s getting really hard to write this right know my family is so freaken loud aaaa con concentrate going to blow brains out nooooooo
Ok sorry about that that’s a little of a brain melt down cus everyone in the world is talking around me and I can’t concentrate on writing when there is five people talking loudly around me.
Screw this.

Indie at his besworst
We went and watched Indiana Jones last night….um yea…It was good to see another Indie movie but I think I went through some kind of trauma watching it cus all I remember are the indie like parts with snakes and whips and such. So you can way that they totally screwed it up.
DON”T READ THIS NEXT PART UNLESS YOU WANT THE HOLE MOVIE REVELED
I”M SERIOUS
Ok fist of all I love Shie Labofe (sp) too lazy to look that up, but Shie as a greaser man o man I had a Grease fangirl flashback and almost had a episode in the theater a very good episode.
Second from the very beginning and maybe it was just me cus I don’t think Ryan saw it you could tell that Shie was Indies long lost son from one of the many girls that he hooked up with in all the movies. But come on Shie the next Indiana Jones even I can’t see that.
Third there were freaking aliens in the movie come one aliens I know it can be some type of possibility. But in an Indiana Jones movie come on what I……I just don’t get it….well I do get it but not in an Idiana Jones movie. I mean aliens…..well excuse me actually there are people from an alternant dimension they actually say that in the movie alternant dimensions. The movie all together was like an Indiana Jones movie smashing head on into a episode of Farscape or Twilight zone. Seriously weird and creepy.
Fourth there was a god damn flying saucer in the movie a flying saucer a flying saucer a flying saucer sorry I think my brain just exploded with stupiedness if that’s possible. Freaking gosh
At the very end of the movie they hinted that Shie would become the next Indie yep I love Shie and all but him being the next Indie I don’t think even he is up that crap.
But I was really good to see Indie in his almost state of Indieness in a movie again maybe next time they’ll do a little better.
oh and if anyone goes and watches it stay tell the very end, I didn’t and know I’m wondering if all the people that got sucked into the alternate dimension with the aliens or sitting around a table having tee or something. Should have stayed tell the end but you know girls right as the movie ends it straight to the bathroom yea you could have went the rest of your life not hearing that but what fun would that be.

Weeeiiiiii
I’ve been practicing my Mario Kart in preparation for this weekend. I think Ryan is buying the game and we might get a bunch of people together and play it. It’s going to be like a Mario Kart party or something.
I’m in the Tri-cities right know and had a pretty busy day. I woke up kind of sick with some sort of chest cold or something which put a damper on my day. Then I couldn’t do one damn thing without some sort of stupid complication. Like buy freaking gas, or a god forsaken stamp, which I don’t believe exist in Spokane.
Anyway after that I went to my internship. We shoot at Shenanigan’s (sp) and Anthony’s which I didn’t know there was another one in the Tri-Cities. All this was really fun and I got a free steak out of it which I brought back to feed my dad or Ryan, come one it’s a grade ad steak someone has to eat it, not me but someone.
The Spokane river has reached record levels meaning a lot of people are at these great restraints which have the best views of the river. The river was almost to the side walk near Shenanigan’s and they closed of one of the bridges in near river front park because of the mist. Anthony’s had the best view though, they were very suited for it anyways with great big windows facing the falls and Washington water power building it was a spectacular view I found myself sitting and staring at it for a little while quite amazed.
And we met some pretty lady’s that let us take their photographs while eating. Pretty Lady’s.
I think we’re going to go out and watch Indiana Jones tonight although I am very skeptical about it. It looks like there is going to be a lot of CGI and I don’t think I like that. What happened to the good old old Harson Ford. I love him.

Run with it or run without it
So I guess I’m some sort of demented female cus I don’t really like baby’s they scare the crap out of me and well crap and cry and pee all over everything. This is college we are learning how to function in a professional environment, even though in the photo building this is rarely true there should be no exception to bring your baby into work with you. Some people are trying to learn. This might just be me being a cold hard bitch and not having any sympathy for someone’s situation or it might be a reasonable argument.
I know that there are a lot of teen pregnancies and those teens try to set things right and go back to college or even just none teen parents that are trying to get an education. But come on it is not professional to raise your child in college or bring it to work. You wouldn’t to this or would not be allowed to do this in the real world why the hell do it in college were people are trying to learn.
This is all a rant because the new girl that works in the Cage that I already have decided I don’t like brought her baby to work. She has brought it to the classes that I’ve had with her over the year and it has disrupted class. Know my work environment is being raided by this unprofessionalism, I can’t even go in the Cage because it’s there. Mostly because of my own hate for the situation and secondly baby’s smell come on we all know they do I’m just saying it. She really has no idea what she is doing in there this is only her second day so what the hell the most qualified person on this job besides the Techs is me and know I can’t do my job because of this situation. I actually enjoy doing my job so it’s shit.
I think I’m going to end up being one of those parents that loves my own kids but don’t really like other peoples or maybe once I do have my own little squishy thing I will come to like them…….*shiver*

Master retard
So I beat Ninja Gaiden last night the boss that I thought was the big boss ended not being it there was one more mini boss after her both which were really tuff to beat. I heard that the girl bosses are harder to beet then the male bosses. Don’t know if that’s true, I’ve only been a half asses gamer for a couple of days.
I after winning the game you can play it in master ninja difficulty level and let me tell you so far it is way harder than the normal. I haven’t gotten too far into it, although I am a little disappointed in the prizes there just a little lame and I wonder if it’s just me. I though once you beat the game there would be this great prize coming down from the ceiling in all its glory, with balloons and such or at least a cool new outfit or character or something. Well not what I got.
My brain is in its thirties, the ideal age being 20, I think that’s a good jump from Saturday when I was 70 and I have been playing it every day like the Doctor told me to. Given he isn’t real.
We went out to Ladies Night at Elements last night me and Heather left a little early and just sat around making fun of people waiting for are other friends to get there. We did the usual pick a person and make up a story for them I got some really good ones. There was a guy in a sweater vest there that I had sad came from Russia or some outlandish country with really thick accents, and that he was once an assassin there moving to America after he had built up to many enemies in his own country. Finding no work as an assassin in the USA for some reason he started going out to the clubs every week. He goes there and picks out the shyest girl that he can find, not very many at these clubs, and takes them home. Only to kill them with his assassin abilities that were no longer in use. Then buried them in his neighbor.

warning game may cause involuntary seizures..but then again what seizure is voluntary
So I’ve gotten to the big boss in Ninja Gaiden only two days at play, but I can’t seems to bet the damn thing mostly because of the touch screen not doing what I want it to and then the all video game rule that the thing cheat’s. So I think I will move on to the Final Fantasy game for a while before I have an heart attack or something from trying to bet Ninja Gaiden.
The Brain Academy game is going very well though I really like it and I’m trying to play it every day. It also has sukido on it which I didn’t realize was as easy as it is.
On the home front a new girl has started working at the Cage, which is the equipment room in the photo building that I work in, and I slightly hate it. Its funny it’s kind of like those cop shows or movies that once there partner passes away they only want to work alone, given that my partner, Heather, hasn’t died but I work alone now. She has better things to be doing then working her as I can tell by her constant checking of her cell phone and her lack of paying attention to proper chemical disposing procedures. So as you can see this girl is already bugging me but it’s all good as long as I don’t have to work with her every day.
I need to settle down and read the third walking dead and the first of the boys I just have been to engulfed with my gaming. They need to put some type of warning since our human brains are too dumb and devolved to tell us when something is bad for us, like that coffee is hot and to try and not spill it on yourself, anyway to the point they should put a warning saying gaming system may be addicting. Well at least it’s one thing that you can get addicted to that wont potentially kill you. Well unless you stay inside forever and don’t eat because you are too busy playing then it could potentially be a health risk. But come on what gamer doesn’t like to eat.

Gamer Madness......know i get it..
So I have been playing Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword all day so far today and most of the day yesterday it is a really great game. I love and hate how you use the stiller, at least I think that’s what the pin thing is called, to attack and do everything. The part I don’t like about it though it is direction taking skill in that you use it to move so you just point and hold to wear you want to go. Most of the time I just end up throwing a ninja star or an arrow, because that move is tap, you can’t seem to run fast enough and go through the right part of the portal. So it’s not very affection. At least for me. The combos are pretty hard to achieve as well with the stiller, up, up, down, left and if you brake contact or hesitate a little you won’t complete the combo.
Good points though when you save your life replenishes and so does your special attack, which you can use only once every save, there are about three save points in each level. Then stiller is cool to fight with though it really gets you in the game. My right arm was dead after only about a half an hour playing.
I’m pretty surprised that I’m doing this well at this game not being a big gamer at all, but I do pick things up fast. I have only got stuck twice, once because I forgot that the DS was so cool that when you need to blow stuff out you actually blow it out, and one part which I was just being stupid I knew I had to set something on fire it just didn’t click in my brain to use me special.
I only have a couple more level to go and I’m very happy about how long this game is lasting. The only other games that I have played all the way through were Bango and Kazooie, Bango and Tootie, Mario Brothers, and God of war. They were all pretty long except God of War I really wished that on lasted a little longer it was a awesome game.
On the home front this weekend was great me and Ryan just geeked out the hole time with video games, comic books, a little invader zim, and Dawn of the Dead, the new one. I forgot how much I don’t like that one it was the first real Zombie movie that I saw when I was younger on top of that I watched it alone know I remember how much I hate Zombies.

DS nation
After I wrote yesterday we went to wal-mart to pick up some stuff for my new DS. I got some screen covers and a pink case. I also picked up Brain Age and I got Final Fantasy Ring of Fates with the DS.
After that we come home, I played the games there for a while I really liked Brain Age I love games like that that make you think, Final fantasy was good too I was skeptical about it at first but it turned out to be really good so far I’m only a little ways through it though.
So today we got up and went to the mall, I needed to go shopping for some new clothes, while we were there I picked up Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword and a really cute out-fit, like you guys care right.
I also got the 3rd Walking dead and the first The Boys I’ve been wanting to read The Boys for a while and decided might as well start now. We went to Sonics for lunch they have these new Mac and Cheese bits which are really good. I had them when I was little at Silverwood, but there are like ten times better at Sonics.
Shit I’ve been really not talking about much in these blogs there more I have to blog things and I have better things to be doing and school is getting pretty hectic. And there are still no topic of the days to help me along.
I’ve been reading the Penny Arcade books and can’t believe how funny these two guys are. They remind me of me and Heather and if you know us you will see it too.
I’m too lazy right now to post any of the pictures that I took this weekend to maybe I’ll do that tomorrow.
I can’t really believe how addicted to this DS it really is a cool little thing.
I’m watching Invader Zim, I forgot how disgusting it really is. But I do love Gir (sp)

speaking of the devil
So yet again I have blogged late, this might become a trend I don’t like that idea.
Ryan is coming over soon so I spent the day cleaning the apartment know it looks like someone lives here not like someone is moving out. There were so many box’s of crap that I don’t really need I’m going to have to go through them and maybe have a yard sale or something.
I picked up dinner for tonight some shush kebabs (sp) that I’m going to try and convince Ryan that I made myself, potatoes for stuffed potatoes, some corn on the cob, and some lemonade for drinks.
Too bad I don’t have a grill cus all that would be way better tasting on the grill. But I think I will back everything. And I might even take pictures and put them on my flicker just for Hjo.
Other than that fun stuff I haven’t done much today I think I will go watch me some zombie movie after this.
Ok so now this is sort of a forced blog Ryan just got here like I was writing this and bamf there he is a hour early. So now as you can imagine I have better things to do.
So I have never owned any type of gameboy or mobile game system before we grew up in the back woods of Idaho and now we are not too well off so I never imagined owning one of my own.
Of course I barrowed my boyfriends whenever I could. Well get this he shows up today with a pink Nintendo DS in hand. What a great boyfriend right well after we eat and take a little nap were going to go to Wal-mart and get some cool things for it I’m so totally excited. I really want to that Brain game thing it looks pretty cool. I can’t wait to settle down and play it.

TV Hit List

So I almost completely forgot to blog today I just now remembered.
I’m posting two pics of the TV Hit List shoot that I did the other day.
Ok on to ramblings about my day. I woke and decided to run down to Spokane Arts Supplies to get the Micropore tape so I could finally mat my art work that I got at the Comicon.
Anyway I was just going to use either white or black for all of them since your mat isn’t suppose to stand out or show up your print. But then the guy was all like here check out all our cool mats and I’m like uhh I like that red, this lead to me buying fifty dollars or so worth of mat, a red, pinkish, black and silver. But it was well worth it cus they look awesome.

I’ll get some pics up tomorrow, it took me a couple hours but I finally got them all matted in 16/20 mats. Now all I have to do is go buy frames for them all.
I think the one I bought for Heather, the Invincible poster and the print done by the small favors lady come out the best.
After matting from about ten tell one thirty, I had to go to my internship shoot at Fugazzies (sp)
downtown. Everything here was a lot better than at RAW because we weren’t shoved in a corner and we actually had natural lighting. So everything was cool, some things did go wrong but what a photoshot with me unless something goes wrong right. Anyway the food there was great and I got to try like five different kinds of cheese, and the food looked great I wouldn’t eat it cus I’m a vegetarian but it looked great and I truest it tasted just as good.
I’m staying home this weekend, which is going to be nice not having to travel I can’t wait tell school end and I can stay in one place for a little while.
Speaking of graduation is Friday June 13th at 3:30 whow that’s a lot of threes. I’ll be sending out invits soon.

Fucking establishment......wait can you say that word on the internet?
So it seems like this might last a pretty long time since both me and OldManLever seem to be blogging pretty consistently.
New comic book day was yesterday I picked up the first R.I.P. Batman. The cool thing that I found in the comic was they told you all the other tie ins that you would need to pick up, Nightwing, Robin, Detective, and some others.
I also picked up the second Walking Dead graphic novel, which I found just as good as the first, it’s kind of like this really long zombie movie so far nothing to out of the usual, I just want to keep reading though so I guess it’s doing its job by getting me addicted to it.
We didn’t have movie night last night cus Jenny had to work so we are doing it tonight. Although I don’t know if Heather is coming now.
I got paid so I’m going to go by some mat bored and microfiber tape so that I can at least mat the art I got I might have to what until the end of May to get any frames for them. Since they short changed me on my check.
I found so far this being assertive thing is kind of working. I slightly just closed off and now I’m not really taking shit. So far I marched straight up to the office and told them to fix my check and to reimburse me for the other one they messed up on, they did give good reasons not to but I still gave them a hard time.
Me and Care went to IHOP for breakfast and decided to try these new drinks after the waiter kept bugging us so we did and they were disgusting we only took three sips or so out of them.
When the waiter came back I asked him to just get use regular drinks and he did and took the other ones of the check. I know these aren’t big things to some people but before I would have just took it, I would have just drank that drink and let them short me 300 on my check. See how much of a goddamn push over I I’m not no more let me tell you. I think I might get some confidence and self respect this way……..go me….and watch out there slightly new Hammy on the loose.
IF YOU’R NOT IN THE PHOTOPROGRAM YOU REALLY DON’T HAVE TO READ THIS, IT’S JUST ME BITCHING.
Ow and I completely forgot about this but it totally erked me and some other people so I’m going to write about it. You know that contest that I entered get this one guy won 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th, even though we were only aloud three entrees, now don’t get me wrong his stuff is good and it’s not his fault people love his work that bad but don’t you think that’s a little not fair to everyone else, I know life isn’t far. I brought this up at the meeting we had for the contest cus it happened last semester two, the same person and all, I said that you should only be able to win one place so that everyone gets a chance, the president said no cus why should we put down someone that does good work and limit his achievements to just one, back then I didn’t argue but know I am. You know what if they get first doesn’t that mean there the best why do they have to win everything. So I’m just saying that in the future we should think about this, why doesn’t anyone lesson seriously. Nobody else even had a freakin chance what a great way to boost moral in the goddamn photobuilding getting of your high horse and fuck off.
Sorry ow and just so you know I’m not angry at the person who won, I think his work is really great and that he does deserves. I’m just angry at the establishment and people “person” who ran this contest for not lessoning to OTHER PEOPLE get the stone out of your ears.
Again I respect the person who won not only his photography but he, himself not any one that put the contest on, gave up both 2nd 3rd and 4th to someone other than himself, the next runner ups. Thank you for being a good person for this and I’m sorry this whole situation probably makes you pissed just as much as use and puts you in a really hard and weird position.

""fan girl""it looks like it""what should we do"'they smell hotness so.....runnn!!!!"
So I was looking at the Penny Arcade web site, since I thought I should wise up on them because I was wearing one of their shirts. Man those guys are funny as hell, I think they have just gained one more fan girl. Hey and get this I totally met them at Comicon but didn’t get anything cus I didn’t quite get how cool they were.
Here is one of their Comics I’m mostly posting this one cus I think almost everyone gets it if not…..you well……yeah

Check more out at http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/ they're great.
So nothing like a really sappy love movie and a puppy to cure your illness.
I watched P.S. I love you last night, it was a really big chick flick but well worth the watch if you’re in the mood. If you haven’t heard the movie is about a husband that passes away but planed out letters to be delivered to his wife. These letters are suppose to help her with his death. With a thousand or so flash backs that make you cry every time, just for the loss of the steaming hot Irish man, it’s a movie that really makes you reflect and slightly zen out.
I was going to rent Bella a movie about a former soccer player and a pregnant women. P.S. I love you won over but I think Bella will be the next movie of choice.
I also rented Dawn of the dead and Shaun of the dead for me and the girls to watch tonight since neither of them have watch either of them.
Today is new comic book day I hope to pick up the second Walking Dead graphic novel, it might be in the new used section at the comic book shop, and brag about all the people I met and all the cool stuff that I got at Comicon.
Well that’s all what should my sign off be

……why must you smell so bad
I really need to find something constructive to talk about, but right know I can’t really think of anything, so you are stuck with me relaying how my day went to you.
Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, how much you prepare, and how paranoid you are about shit going wrong, something still goes wrong?
So I’m pretty close to just giving up on this blog thing, I think it’s just because I’ve been in a little funk for a while………and know I sound like a complete girl.
So all the Comicon stuff is over I got some really great things from there that I will try and take pics of and put them up. I also got presents for my friends birthdays which are coming up soon that they’re going to just love. Which is great I’m happy that I found something for them.
Now I’m going to go through the pain of matting all seven or eight pieces and framing them so that they keep their value and plus it looks so much better having them mattes. And I have the skill and supplies to do it. The only problem is that I don’t know wither to use the photo corners or microfiber tape to mate them either one has its downs but there all better than just regular tape. I think I will go with the microfiber even though it might damage the works after about ten years you can always just cut the extra off.
I’m use to matting my photographs so this is a whole new challenge of not trying to hurt the works.
And spending a small fortune on buying frames for all of them.
I’ve been kind of down all day today and in the photo building that’s never good, I just have a lot on my mind and I’m too scared to talk about it to the person I need to. If that makes since to any one besides me I’ll be surprised. I just hate conflict and hurting people, so whopdy freaken do.
I’m getting really tired of being such a push over and taking it up the ass with a smile so I think soon I will do something about wither its being a complete bitch to everyone or getting even which might eventually lead to getting put in jail. Damn I hate this…….damn emo talk and emoness…….damn shit……why must you smell so bad.

"hi my name is Hammy and I'm a..........geek"
well I’m back in Spokane, woke up around five this morning to get in town early so that the equipment that I checked out wouldn’t be late. Yea for me the drive was long and boring and I was tired as hell again.
Ok Sunday we went over to the Con around 10:00 ,when it opens, and wondered around there for a while, untell about one where me, logan and Ryan all sat down to the Wil Wheaten Experience, I don’t really remember what it was called. Wil Wheaten played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek the next Generation and is a really big geek, he has a couple books out about being a geek and his blog is pretty famous too. He has also played the voices of Aqualad on teen titans and Cosmic boy on the legion of superhero’s, so I got most of what he was talking about just not the D&D stuff. It was quite entertaining but I couldn’t help feel out of place, I have just become a geek this last two years cus of college, but I was always a little geeky when I was little always watching cartoons and such. But the thing that I found weird was that a lot of people and even Wil himself complained about being picked on at school by the popular kids, or the jocks, I wasn’t popular but I was a damn good athlete back in my day, playing sports year round. I couldn’t help but think any moment the people there were going to find out my past that I was a jock and get out there pitchforks and chase after me, not being able to catch me though. So it felt like a cult slash AA meeting but for geeks. I’m not kidding the first thing that Wil said when he got up there was “hi my name is Wil Wheaten and I’m a geek” every “hi Wil”. Don’t get me wrong though I know I’m a total geek now, I just felt kind of like an outsider because I have just become one, like a new born geek I only have two years under my belt while all the other people have been perfecting there geekkyness for years. Ok here it goes “hi my name is Hammy and I’m a geek that can run like hell” .
Other news on Sunday we went there in the morning for only one thing and that was to see if Robert Kirkman and all the other guys from Invincible were there but they weren’t. So we were on our way out after the Wil Wheaton Experience and long behold there they are, I totally panicked I had to run like three or four blocks to the nearest ATM to get some cash for the fist walking dead trade and the first invincible trade, which I found out soon enough that Walker was the artist for the first one while Ottley was the artist for the rest and Ottley was the one there signing stuff, so I had to by two print and got everone to sing it and I mean all the big honcho people, Robert Kirkman creator/ writer, Ryan Ottley artist, Bill Carbtree inker/ colorist, to sign both the prints and the first trade score right, I also got Robert Kirkman to sing the first walking dead trade that I had ryan go and find while I was in line because I have yet to read it and it looks pretty good, which it was.
Ok that’s all I have to go turn in my pictures to my internship.
Ok here it goes “hi my name is Hammy and I’m a geek that can run like hell” .

running wild
Ok so now that I’m well rested I can tell you about the awesomeness of Comicon, after waiting in line for how knows how long we finally got in I went start to the exclusive table to get the hulk eating dicks by the pikes market sign which was limited to 100, I met a lot of cool guys being the only girl jammed in between them I ended up getting number 35/100 it was so cool, I also got the beyond wonderland, and the boy’s exclusive. After that I went to go find Moose Baumann the color for green lanter corps and Sinestro corps war. I got his and Ethan Van Sciver, autograph on the Sinestro corps war one comic, that was rockin, after that I had to find ryan cus he ditched me when I went for the exclusive, I found him and went wondering around to see who I could find the Bill Carbtree the artist for invincible and found his line to be forever long, we saw Robert Kirkman the creator of Invincible we just saw him though we didn’t get an autograph, ryan got Jay Faerber the writer/ creater of Dynamo five and noble causes, and we went to the penny arcade booth and ryan got a poster and 2nd trade singed by both Babe and Tycho, we also got to shirts, one for me and one for him, he got the Heroism t-shirt and I got the Photoshop hero t-shirt witch I got like five dozen cool shirts on, thank you ryan.
Ok so this might not be the actual order of things but it was all a kind of comicy goodness blerr so yea.
While we were walking around I spotted the coolest thing ever, a boba fett, they were doing a picture thingy with him and it was so cool, they let us do anything and of course I made boba purpose to me, it was totally great and cool, I’ll scan in the pic when I get back to school, we also got to talk to and some original art from one of me and ryans fav books called small favors she was so cool and nice and asked us our names and such, her name is Colleen Coover, I got a drawing and a couple little dodels from her which I’m going to fram.
We also got our fable, which we had to find and by there because we didn’t bring ours, to bill Willingham the creator of Fables, if I totally come prepared I would have had him sign every fables thing I had, it’s one of my favorite comics.
I also got the Beyond Wonderland exclusive plus the six set mini series signed by the three people that created and drew it. All the people there were really nice and actually happy to be there. I also got to talk to and a autograph form the Defuser, he was totally nice and some of his proceeds went to breast cancer which I loved, he was really nice to.
the only panel that we went to was the Image one which was nice just for the fact that we got to set down for it. The panel consisted of Robert Kirkman, Jay Faerber, and the writer for elephant man Justin Norman. It was kind of boring but really nice just to set and lesion to them talk about our favorite comics.
Well I think that’s all but if I remember something you know that I will blog about it.
So were going to go see if we can get ryan ottley and bill carbtrees autographs and sutch, and go see the space needle.

So tired so very zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So I will start with yesterday and fell you in on the comicon front. But first note that I am really really tired. If you know me personally you know that I keep trucking no matter what but after I’m done writing this which I will do half assed I will hit the sheet for some good sleep. And this is the first time that I have blogged so late into the day.
Ok yesterday went as well as can be excepted I got at my internship we went to one restraint only to be shuffled to the next. We sat up in RAW and things started to go wrong like I expected, the background light had no cored, the wizards, kept on misfiring, and we were in the darkest part of the restraint. But all in all the Chief and the other guys I shot were really nice and I got some great food shots and free food out of it. Plus it was really fun and a guy walked in and asked my boss if he could talk to me random guy right he asks me if I wanted to photograph for a broacher, I told him to give me a call on Monday. That was the first time that I felt like a real photographer it was awesome.
Ok so comicon we left this morning around 3:00 in the morning after me getting no sleep at all because of my excitedness and after having been up since 8:00 that morning doing nothing but running around then that shoot which takes a lot out of you. So when I got into the tri-cities yesterday me and ryan went and saw speed racer which was totally rocking, then got home around 12:30 he went to sleep while I tossed and turned. Any way you can see the tiredness get to me cus I’m babbling, we left at three in the morning went through logan ryan then back to logan driving because of them being tired, logan wont let me dirve even though I was the only one awake, we finally his seattle around 6:40 which I thought it took longer, we got into the hotel room and went to go get some doughnuts, and ended up going to see if there was a line for the con yet, which there was so we said goodbye to breakfast and hello to waiting in line for an hour to get our passes, then another hour and a half to get into the exhibits. All in all it was awesome and her are some pics. I will talk more on it tomorrow I dint expect to be this damn tired, so tired that I can barely write my blog without dozing off and I know it’s filed with all sorts of grammar and misspells I don’t care I’m going to take a nap.
here are pics one of flash…….the hell I went through to get a exclusive…….view from room……one of my exclusives..

Now you know why they call me Hammy
Holy crap there are only two people left in the IMBC. It’s down to the wire and I’m kind of getting nerves. Anyone else………no……dang.
So today is a big busy day, I woke up around 8:00 and went to school to mate stuff for the photo contest here at the school. Hopefully I well at least get and honorable mention or something. I put in three pieces.
It’s been getting harder and harder to write my blog every morning things have been getting pretty busy and I am having trouble finding the time. But do not worry my fellow…..um…followers….that makes it sound like a cult……I well prevail and for all you comic book geeks things are about to get interesting because I will be blogging about the comicon soon.
So today I have to leave my class early to go and grab my equipment and go to my intern shoot.
I’m pretty nerves about the shoot in general I have like two back up lights a flash and a whole lot of equipment just in case something goes wrong which knowing me something most likely will. And I well be doing this whole shoot in front of like five people who are all my bosses and co-workers and it’s kind of nerve racking but I guess it’s something that I have to get use to.
We are making web pages in my digital two class which I’m pretty excited about, although I have no idea what I’m doing in Dreamweaver. But I made a really cool opening GIF for the front page it’s my Bad Luck Images stamp and the U on the luck dumps out four of my images it’s really cool and all I had to do is make it in photoshop CS3 because they have a new animation thingy.
So now I’m totally distracted by class cus this is the stuff that I actually want to learn.
After my shoot at RAW I hopefully will get home in the tri-cities around 8:00 or so then go shopping for some stuff for the trip. And then we might go see Speed Racer which would be totally cool because it looks rocking to me.
There is no Totd for today, cus no one wrought one in…….and there isn’t any for a while so here I have an idea if you read my blog and have a Totd that you would like to see me and the last competitor talk about leave it in the comments and I’ll e-mail it in. Sound cool right chose wisely my fellow readers.
Ok so this blog was a little scatter brained so enjoy talk to you tomorrow morning. Were I will be in Seattle by then were leaving around 3:00 Saturday morning.

We are strong, we are proud, we are photographers.

So I finally developed those 4x5 photographs that I took of the cable bridge in the tri-cities, for not having a meter I think they come out pretty good. Most of them were a little to dark but one came out just right. Thank god for bracketing right, well I scanned in the one that came out, me and one of the other students her kind of became mad scientist at this point we were seeing how big of a print we could get and ended up scanning it at 6,200 dpi in the very beginning. It took 30 minutes to scan and 15 min. to open in Photoshop and when it did finally open in Photoshop only ¼ the image was there, the other ¾ consisted of some weird noise that I can’t quite explain. It was so big that Photoshop couldn’t support it. So we ended up scanning it in at 2,400 and I got an image with the size of 20 in by 30 in at 400 dpi man 4x5 rules I’m going to print it at that size for a poster. It’s going to rock.
I need to get some pictures printed for the photo contest that we are having her so I’ll do that some time today. Other than that nothing too big going on.
Yesterday after I got done messing around scanning I ended up feeling like I was coming down with something and since I have such a big weekend I didn’t want anything to get in my way. So I went home and went to sleep from around four tell eight o’clock this morning. That was a good sleep……..know I feel lots better and am totally pumped for tomorrows long ass day.
Random bit:
Who said being a photographer was easy, I do just as much work and more than a lot of other people around the world, working for someone is way harder than having people work for you even more in this field.
We are strong, we are proud, we are photographers.
Well that’s all today, I thought that I would give you guys a short one for a break and I’m going to go fool around with Photoshop.

whoop.......off this his head
Another boring blog yet again today.
And you will find me complaining about stuff
Yesterday after getting discouraged with Adobe Flash I decided to wonder down to the mall to see what they could do about my broken phone on the way there it started to rain and my driver side windshield wiper broke a while ago so I duck taped it now it wipes most of the driver side windshield but not all, this will come up later. Anyway there has been an enormous amount of road construction in Spokane, every road you go on has something going on with it, as people in Spokane know it’s really starting to get annoying. I take a different route into town then I normally do because it has less construction going on it, so I’m mindfully driving on this four lane road and see I semi driving in the left lane and he’s going really slow, probably because these back road weren’t designed to have big trucks drive on them, anyway I go to pass him in the right land and get about half way between his load I notice him start getting closer to me, the stupid jack ass was changing lanes into the one I was currently in so I blare my horn and slam on my breaks, making someone almost rear end me I would have been smushed in between a big butt semi and a couple of parked cars. So know I’m pissed and just want to get away from this stupid truck so I change into the left lane and try to pass him there and yet again he swerves and try’s to hit me.
So yea then I go to the mall and I was parked fixing my windshield wiper, and my driver side door was open cus I was going in between adjusting something then trying them one and all the sudden I hear a hunk and I’m all like what the hell guy was backing into the spot that was right next to me there are at least ten other spots just as close so he reeves his engine starts backing up so I run an kick my door shut. And go back to my windshield wipers and the jack ass almost hit me. So he gets out and says” sorry for the inconvenience” and I’m all like “there are five hundred other spots yea your sorry” then in front of his six year old daughter he calls me a bitch and walks off. Gosh people these days right.
Anyway that’s my rant and rave I
Today’s Totd
It’s another Marry, Boff, Kill: Lorne Michaels, Billy Connolly, Michio Kaku.
I think I would marry Lorne Michels just because he is a pretty damn cool guy
This one’s hard cus I don’t really know the rest of the guys but
let’s see I would boff Michio Kaku because he might not have been getting any other wise but you never know geeks are the new black.
And have to kill the last guy Billy Connolly sorry I think he doesn’t sound to annoying, hey his a comedian well laugh at his funeral

Marry, Boff, Kill sounds like fun............i take it back......i take it all back
Yahoo I just finish one of my online class’s two more to go then I will be able to just concentrate on my Dig two and internship. Man it’s such a relief to be done with one class. I only have 5 more for the Photoshop class and then maybe I can relax a little and enjoy my last semester here. Yea right only a dream.
So I don’t have much to talk about yesterday was a little uneventful, I cleaned my room which really needed it consetering that I haven’t gotten most the boxes from moving in organized yet.
I had a photo shoot with Heather she set everything up and I shoot some pics for her graduation notices. I think I will do that too sooner or later.
After that we went to the Wal-mart in Airway heights and have agreed that that is our Wal-mart of choice for the Zombie invasions. It is extra cool I’ll have to take some pics of it. It’s also pretty new and has everything we need and more like metal shopping carts and metal plates on the ground when you just walk in. Yes I think we can electrify that. It also has a weird garden center that just has a bunch of big metal towers outside we can use that for something.
Anyway still three people in the IMBC so it looks like you are stuck with my somewhat retarded blogs for a while. Only four more days tell Comicon. I can’t wait to take a little vacation and got to a con. Plus I will be doing a photo-story on it for one of my classes. Which is like having fun and getting credit for it at the sometime.
I watched Big bang theory last night and decided that I love that show, it’s totally great for all types of geek and nerds. And I love recognizing stuff in it, it makes me feel like I’m not the only comic freak in the world.
ok enough of that boringness time for
Today’s Totd
Marry, Boff, Kill: Helen Thomas, Martha Stewart, Oprah. Show your work. ……………………………………
I had to fallow the link to see what this was so it’s still there for you guys…
Let’s see I would defiantly love to kill Oprah, I despise that lady even enough not to marry her for her money. I just find her so annoying and she has such a big head. Do you ever relies how much money she gives to kids and people in Africa compared to the half penny’s she gives to help kids in the United States. It bull sorry that your great great great ancestors were torn away from their country. But where would you rather had grown up there or in the US come one I know it’s sad but if it didn’t happen then you would have been just as bad or worse off than the people over there now. Get over it.
And plus Martha Stewart as annoying as she is makes just as much money and can make me great food all the time as my wife. The only down side is that she is old and annoying but other than that……..make me cookies slave!!!!!!!!
That leaves Helen Thomas to…….um…….boff…(that means have sex with right?)…….well it’s only that way because she is that last one left ok I do not have any weird secret girl crush on her…….hey why is there only girls in this where are all the guys………shit I just looked her up man is she ugly……….yes I didn’t know who she was I know that she was some writer though……………………but dang she like ewwwwww………………….o well…..lights off.

Bloomsday 7.4 miles, 55 thousand people, one rout, one doomsday and one tiny little road

They give rebuttals and even more information. The links on Sunday’s blog go right to the bill itself. So check it out be educated on what may affect you.
Bloomsday 7.4 miles, 55 thousand people, one rout, one doomsday and one tiny little road
Well yesterday ended up being a total blast. I went out and watched the men’ elite wheel chair race then came the runners. I got some really cool photographs, Emily my classmate and neighbor couldn’t leave for work because the mass group had already started. I can’t say that I wasn’t happy, so we stood there right smack in front of our apartments and snapped pictures.
The owner of the building got out to hoses and started spraying the runners who were very thankful I don’t think I have ever hear that many thank yous in my entire life. The people from the Japanese girl’s school had hand fans and were fanning people on the other side of the road. It was a real community event.
There are four apartment houses, the Japanese girls school and two churches right next to Spokane falls community college. So it was great that every apartment had a little thing going. The ones down the street a little had a couch and some chairs out front and were drinking away while someone put there speakers on the balcony and bleared the Beatle’s, on the way there a group of people were selling otter pops, further on down there was a drum band made out of buckets, then a rock back on the corner of Gov way and Wright, plus up at the school the news cast people were there and a helicopter.
I thought for this being the out skirts of town, the sign that says welcome to Spokane is at the corner of Gov way and Geo Wright, that there wouldn’t be to many things going on just a couple of people watching but I was pleasantly surprised.
After a while Rachel came out and started shooting with use. So there were three photographers in a group and people started to notice and ran by yelling take my picture or would actually smile at the camera. So that was really great having people know your there, especially in my filed of photojournalism were I always need to be invisible to catch peoples true emotion, but this was just for the hell of it. So I started weaving in and out, running back and forth across the street, which was harder then it sounds, I even started running after some costumes. All in all I spent about four hours out there got sun burnt and had a blast I will defiantly do this again next year and maybe even run it. We already have are thought for costumes next year but it’s top secret.
It was slightly amazing and very holy shit that many people do this day but very memorable.
So I haven’t talked about this for a while

What is the best thing you’ve ever created?...............................................
Well I’m a photographer so I have created a lot of things. So far I think that my self portrait, my display pic, is one of the best things I have created I really love the thing. If I was a mom I would say my child but right know that photograph is my child I love it to death and put it everywhere I can to show it off. But yep that’s my greatest creation well except for my beloved Frankenstein.
It was a real community event.

read, it's good for you
So I really recommend that you read yesterdays post along with the comments made on it. It will help you better understand what is happening. I will not withdraw my judgment though close minded or uneducated as it may be. But I think that everyone potentially affected by this, if it ever happens, should be educated on it and decide for themselves. I also switched my news real to links dealing with “orphan works” just in case you wanted to go further in investigating. I would really appreciate comments on what you think as a photographer, artist, and just regular people about the issue at hand.
I really recommend that you fallow the links given by Hjo and myself, in the comment area of yesterday, to further discussions and rebuttals to this subject.
I would also fallow this two links

Ok enough of the series banter….
Today is Bloomsday, which for some who don’t know is a 7.4 mile run around Spokane, a lot of people from around the world come to run along with thousands from right here in Washington. There are a lot of big fun things going on in the park as well while people run. This year will be my first to even been in town when it happens, and my apartment has a great view of a part of the trail a little before Doomsday hill. I was going to go down town but have yet to decide, traffic is horrible and I would most like be better of walking the seven miles from my apartment since that’s probably how far I will have to park. Plus I kind of don’t want to go alone….I know be adventures right……well I don’t like big groups of people and being alone in them is just a little too overwhelming for me. This last Christmas I had to by a monkey to hug while going through the tiny mall in Kennewick I’ve found that I can get over it but I have to be “in the zone” and I want to take photographs. Mmmmk well if anyone reads this and wants to go I’m willing but by 9:00 I’m going no matter what.
I found that my phone is broken so I don’t know what I’m going to do about that I didn’t get the insurance on it and don’t know how much it’s going to cost to get it fixed or a new one. You can still call me but I will have to talk through the speaker phone, the regular ear peace it what’s broken.
Yester day was free comic book day we hit a total of three comic book shops. Marlins hired some people to dress up as Star Wars characters and take pictures in front of the store. I didn’t have my camera on me, but I did get on one my cell.
Still three people left and my blog is looking rocktastic

MUST READ ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS AND ARTISTS Main this country is falling apart what next
OK so I have really long but very very important article for everyone especially photographers of all kind to read. My blog 300 will come after the article.
Mind Your Business: You Will Lose All The Rights to Your Own ArtMark Simon is mad as hell and, in this month's "Mind Your Business," he tells you why you should be too.April 10, 2008By Mark Simon
As you know, I usually handle the subjects in my articles with a sense of humor. That is not the case this month. I find nothing funny about the new Orphan Works legislation that is before Congress.
In fact, it PISSES ME OFF!
As an artist, you have to read this article or you could lose everything you've ever created!
An Orphaned Work is any creative work of art where the artist or copyright owner has released their copyright, whether on purpose, by passage of time, or by lack of proper registration. In the same way that an orphaned child loses the protection of his or her parents, your creative work can become an orphan for others to use without your permission.
If you don't like to read long articles, you will miss incredibly important information that will affect the rest of your career as an artist. You should at least skip to the end to find the link for a fantastic interview with the Illustrators' Partnership about how you are about to lose ownership of your own artwork.
Currently, you don't have to register your artwork to own the copyright. You own a copyright as soon as you create something. International law also supports this. Right now, registration allows you to sue for damages, in addition to fair value.
What makes me so MAD about this new legislation is that it legalizes THEFT! The only people who benefit from this are those who want to make use of our creative works without paying for them and large companies who will run the new private copyright registries.
These registries are companies that you would be forced to pay in order to register every single image, photo, sketch or creative work.
It is currently against international law to coerce people to register their work for copyright because there are so many inherent problems with it. But because big business can push through laws in the United States, our country is about to break with the rest of the world, again, and take your rights away.
With the tens of millions of photos and pieces of artwork created each year, the bounty for forcing everyone to pay a registration fee would be enormous. We lose our rights and our creations, and someone else makes money at our expense.
This includes every sketch, painting, photo, sculpture, drawing, video, song and every other type of creative endeavor. All of it is at risk!
If the Orphan Works legislation passes, you and I and all creatives will lose virtually all the rights to not only our future work but to everything we've created over the past 34 years, unless we register it with the new, untested and privately run (by the friends and cronies of the U.S. government) registries. Even then, there is no guarantee that someone wishing to steal your personal creations won't successfully call your work an orphan work, and then legally use it for free.
In short, if Congress passes this law, YOU WILL LOSE THE RIGHT TO MAKE MONEY FROM
YOUR OWN CREATIONS!
Why is this allowed to happen? APATHY and MONEY.
Artists have apathy and corporations have money.
We need to be heard in order to protect our incomes, our creations and our careers. GET OFF YOUR ASS!
That means writing letters to our congressmen and representatives. That means voicing your opinion about how we need copyright protection, as we've had since 1976, that protects everything we create from the moment we create it. This is the case around the world.
However, an Orphan Works bill is also in the works in Europe. I was speaking recently with Roger Dean, the famed artist of the Yes album covers, and he is greatly concerned with what will happen if Orphan Works bills become law.
"This will devastate the livelihood of artists, photographers and designers in a number of ways," Dean says. "That at the behest of a few hugely rich corporations who got rich by selling art that they played no part in the making of, the U.S. and U.K. governments are changing the copyright laws to protect the infringer instead of the creator. This is unjust, culturally destructive and commercial lunacy. This will not just hurt millions of artists around the world.
"On the other side of the coin, what argument will a U.S. court have with a Chinese company that insists it did its research in China and found nothing? If the cost of this is onerous for a U.S.-based artist, what will it be like for artists and small businesses in emergent economies?"
If an artist whose work is as famous as Roger Dean's is concerned with this legislation, it should be of great concern for all of us.
The people, associations and companies behind the Orphan Works bill state that orphaned works have no value. If that were true, no one would want them. However, these same companies DO WANT your work, they just don't want to pay for it. If someone wants something, IT HAS VALUE. It's pretty simple.
Some major art and photography associations, or I should say, the managers of the associations, support this bill. The reason they support it is that they will operate some of the registries and stand to make a lot of money. Some have already been given millions of dollars by the Library of Congress. Follow the money and you will see why some groups support this bill of legalized theft of everything you have ever created.
Two proponents of this new legislation are Corbis and Getty Images. They are large stock photo and stock art companies. They sell art and photos inexpensively and are trying to build giant royalty-free databases. Do you see how they could benefit from considering most works of art in the world orphans?
Do you know who owns Corbis? Bill Gates. He doesn't do anything unless it can make a huge amount of money. Helping you lose the copyright to your art is big business for Gates.
For years we've heard of Hollywood fighting with China to protect copyrights and stop the pirating of DVDs. Our government has worked with the studios to protect their investment.
Our government is NOW WORKING AGAINST US by allowing our own fellow citizens TO
STEAL OUR CREATIVE WORKS.
It will be easy for them to get away with it unless we make ourselves heard.
Your calls and letters do work. I've seen many instances in which a single letter made a difference in public policy. Tens of thousands of calls and letters help even more.
This is not empty talk. I have written letters to my congressmen and I will do so again. I do what
I can to let every creator know about terrible legislation like this... thus you are reading articles like this one and you can listen to interviews I've posted online.
CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATOR:Go to http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml to quickly find the phone number, address and e-mail of every U.S. senator, U.S. representative, governor and state legislator.
Forward this article to every creator you know and urge them to take a moment to protect their very livelihood. I am giving everyone the right to reprint this article in any form to help spread the word to protect our creative rights.
Instead of sitting around watching TV tonight, TiVo that show, write a letter and make yourself heard.
Letters to our government officials don't have to be long, but they should be heartfelt. A good story helps. Tell them who you are, how this legislation negatively affects you and that you want them to vote against the Orphan Works legislation. It's that easy!
If you don't, you will have only yourself to blame when you see other people making money from your art and you don't see a dime.
Spider-Man comic artist Alex Saviuk is also concerned about the loss of copyright protection. "When I found out all the negative aspects of the new legislation, it would almost behoove us to want to do something else for a living," says Saviuk. "If we would have to register with all the different companies, we would never be able to make a living."
"It would be impossible for me to register all my art," continues Saviuk. "It would put me out of business."
You can listen to my complete interview with Alex
online. Think this doesn't apply to you? Maybe you don't license your artwork? How about this?
Photos on the internet could be orphaned. With tens of millions of photos shared online with services like Flickr, Shutterfly and Snapfish, there is a huge opportunity for unauthorized use of your photos... legally.
You could see photos you take of your family and kids, or of a family vacation, used in a magazine or newspaper without your permission or payment to you. You would have to pay to register your photos, all of them, in every new registry in order to protect them. Say the average person takes 300 photos per year (I take a lot more than that). If a registry only charges $5 per image, that is a whopping $1,500 to protect your photos that are protected automatically under the current laws. If there are three registries, protecting your images could cost an amazing $4,500. Not to mention the time it would take to register every photo you take. Plus, you will also have to place your copyright sign on every photo.
That's not including all your art, sketches, paintings, 3D models, animations, etc. Do you really have all that extra time and money? Plus, even if you do register, the people stealing your work can still claim it was orphaned and, unless you fight them, they win. Even if you win, you may not make back your legal fees.
It gets even better. Anyone can submit images, including your images. They would then be excused from any liability for infringement (also known as THEFT) unless the legitimate rights owner (you) responds within a certain period of time to grant or deny permission to use your work.
That means you will also have to look through every image in every registry all the time to make sure someone is not stealing and registering your art. You could actually end up illegally using your own artwork if someone else registers it. DOES ANYONE SEE A PROBLEM WITH THIS?
Do you think the U.S. Copyright Office is here to protect you from this legislation? Think again.
Brad Holland of the Illustrators' Partnership shares his notes from a recent meeting with David
O. Carson, general counsel of the Copyright Office.
Brad Holland: If a user can't find a registered work at the Copyright Office, hasn't the Copyright
Office facilitated the creation of an orphaned work?
David O. Carson: Copyright owners will have to register their images with private registries.
BH: But what if I exercise my exclusive right of copyright and choose not to register?
DOC: If you want to go ahead and create an orphan work, be my guest!
This cavalier and disrespectful dialogue should have you seeing red. Who the hell does he think he is? Carson should be fired and RUN OUT OF WASHINGTON!
None of this could happen with our current laws. Our current laws work and they protect us and our creations.
The only people who will benefit from the copyright law change are those who can't create work on their own or companies who stand to make a lot of money from using our works of art. They make contributions to congressmen, which is why they get what they want. We need to stand up and be heard. Every one of you need to write your senators and representatives. We have to protect our livelihoods. It's that serious.
Plus, the technologies being developed for locating visual art don't work well enough. On March 13, 2008, PicScout, the creators of one of the software applications used in the registries, stated to the House IP subcommittee:
"Our technology can match images, or partial information of an image, with 99% success."
A 1% margin of error is huge when you consider the millions of searches performed for art every day. That means for every million searches, 10,000 images could be orphaned.
Plus, this only takes into account images registered on their system. If you have registered all your work on another system, they won't be searched here and, even though you may have spent thousands of dollars registering your creations, a new or unused directory could orphan everything you've ever created.
This is just one of the many reasons why INTERNATIONAL LAW FORBIDS COERCED
REGISTRATION as a condition of protecting your copyright. The United States is about to break international law by making us register our works. The people behind the bill say it's not forced registration, but you won't have any rights unless you register. THIS IS SEMANTICS! Of course, this is forced registration and we can't stand for it!
There are many, many other problems with the Orphan Works legislation. As a creator, YOU
MUST understand what is going on.
For additional information on Orphan Works developments, go to the IPA Orphan Works
Resource Page for Artists http://www.illustratorspartnership.org/01_topics/article.php?searchterm=00185.
This is not something that is going to go away easily. We need to be vocal NOW!
This legislation has been beaten or delayed for the past two years and they will keep trying until it passes. This is no time to be quiet and see what happens. What will happen depends on you.
Send e-mails and call your congressmen. Ownership of your own creations depends on it.
Roger Dean sums this up well. "Where are the colleges and universities in all this? Has the whole world gone to sleep?"
GET ON ORPHAN WORKS E-MAIL LISTTo be notified of the latest information on the Orphan Works bill and when to contact your legislators, send an e-mail and ask to be added to the Orphan Works list.
AUDIO INTERVIEW LINKI have recorded a fantastic interview with Brad Holland of the Illustrators' Partnership regarding this bill and what it means to us as artists. Please listen and learn more about how you may lose ownership of all your art and photos. This article and the recorded interview are available for anyone to use in print or online. Please forward this information to every person and group you know so that we can work together and protect our creations and livelihoods.

MY 300
So right out you can tell that I don’t like this idea of the orphan works, it’s totally bullshit and I think that Mr. Mark Simon has said it all. It puts us as photographers and artist at risk more than we are today. Get this things like this have being going on forever, we do projects with our graphic design department here at Spokane Falls, they bring us in a product and we photograph it. Some designers and I personally don’t know who is teaching these ideas, but one designer brings in a peace, with a photograph of nuclear power plant on it, there advertising being “GREEN” so we ask him if he took that photograph, nope he got it off the internet, we asked him well did you pay for it, he said he didn’t think that he had to since there was no copyright stated on it. Later we search the image and find that it was in a stock photography web page and he took it off the display image which is tiny so he had to blow it up with little resolution to make it usable like he did. If he was working for any major company he would be fired right off the bat.
Who the hell takes other peoples images and uses them as their own. Well a lot of people actually, thats why you see me, not so much on my blog, put my bad luck images stamp on every photograph that I put on the internet if you look at my flicker you can really see it at work. You know why I do that cus people still shit people think that it’s on the internet so you can have free range on it. I worked so hard and many long hours to make those images what gives you the right to use them in any way. It sucks having to put that logo all over my photographs because it really takes away the meaning and the impact of it. Instead of looking at the photograph your trying to read what the logo says or your just looking at the logo. But it detours people they see it and think that it is copyrighted and that they would be in a world of trouble if they used it and it makes the photographs unusable in some ways you would have to take hours cloning out the logo in Photoshop and the photograph would never look the way it was meant to.
Back to the orphan works bill, if this bill ever past personally you would never ever see any of my photographs on the internet ever again. I like sharing my work with everyone even more with the people that read my blog but this takes the cake. I’m already thinking of going and reposting all my photographs that don’t have my logo on here, my blog, just to double protect myself.
Main this country is falling apart what next right.

MY 300
So right out you can tell that I don’t like this idea of the orphan works, it’s totally bullshit and I think that Mr.
Main this country is falling apart what next right.

i did it againt thank you............and IRON MAN REVIEW check it out it's totaly rocking socking robot tastic.
Ok so I’m going to blog really fast then off to work again. Yesterday was hell-o busy I got a lot of things done and after I talked to you last I went and shot downtown for the second time for my internship this time focusing on Spokane landmarks like the Tint and Carrousel. I only got a couple photographs of a kid on a swing which didn’t turn out to well. After that I went and did my dust dig two shot of a building down town I made the mistake of setting up a little early and had to wait about two hours standing as still as I could so that I didn’t move the frame. I was set up in the back of my truck with two legs of my tripod on my black box and one on the roof of the truck. Since my black box isn’t secured down it moves with the slightest twitch.
After the almost two hours of standing there still in the cold with nothing on but a stripy zippy thing I finally got done with the shoot and ran into my truck to get warm. We planned to go to techno night before the movie so I rushed home legs all wobbly to get changed and showed up there to find out that it didn’t even open this time......come on we had a girl stand out there from like 8:30 and they didn’t even open……..i think I will have to call them sometime to see if they still have it going on.
Anyway after that disappointing we chilled at Sharie’s for a hour and a half before we went over to the IRON MAN premier at like eleven when we got there they were setting which was nice not having to wait in line to get in, my legs were still tired.
First the freaking previews were AWSOME they had one for the new Hulk movie which anything well be better than the last one. Of course a batman one, and and OMG I totally didn’t know that it was going to preview but OMG THE SPIRIT * uber uber SQUEEEEEEEEEEE* I swear the first five or six seconds I’m all like I know that saying and once I saw the black outlet with the red tie I swear to good I yell in the highest pitch voice that I didn’t even know I had IT”S THE SPIRIT I swear I totally freaked out like totally I probably had a couple people staring for the shear excitement of me seeing that preview it was like totally awesome and after words my heart was pounding. Yes I know uber geek but come on it THE SPIRIT. And for my normal readers I will explain a little Will Eisner awards is like the freaking noble peace prize of comic books and they were named after well Will Eisner who is bigger than like Stan Lee man Stan Lee, the only old man that I would ever marry, so he is the writer of the spirit well back when he was alive. Anyway the Spirit is like an old time detective, no super powers nothing but fast acting American muscle, and gorgeous looks. I almost died when saw the preview the movie is coming out in 2009.

IRON MAN REVIEW
Ok so on to the IRON MAN movie it was rocking not only was it funny and trust me it was really really funny but the actor that played Tony Stark and the graphics on iron man were great like man I can get over how good that movie was. There were some parts that I didn’t like though like most of the 20 minutes or so beginning but the rest of it was great. So I defiantly for comic book nerd/ geeks it’s a must see and for the average Joe its just a plain good movie with great humor and action. And just a hint I know how most comic book geeks are we stay tell they kick us out of the theater after all the credits are done, come on we know there is going to be something at the very very end so STICK Around for comic geeks it’s freaken awesome although I don’t think the Average Joe will get it but it’s still worth knowing know let’s hope and pray to how ever it may be that they don’t miss up any future IRON MAN movies like……………Spiderman……..which I was surprised and I know some of you were just hopping that there would be a Spider man four preview sorry to bust your bubble, not really, but there wasn’t score one for the sanity of myself and not having to go through another one of those movies again.
So I’m a little confused on what topic to write about there seems to be two pages calming to me may’s Totd so umm I’ll guess.
What I think today’s Totd is
The earth’s going to explode in ten minutes. How will you spend the rest of your life?
Come on ten minutes that seems a little unreasonable, would we really not know with all our technology if world destruction was only like ten minutes away. Will shoot I would probably as of now be franticly trying to get to the tri-cities to spend my last moments with my boyfriend yea only if I could travel at like 300 mph and meet him half way so um I would call him hopefully the phones work and tell him that I love him and all that jazz. That kind of a depressing topic………
ok got to get to work, and I’m very happy with myself…pats on back….. I’m operating on about four hours of sleep at top speed and have a lot of work done and to do……. hum now I’m at 979 words should I torture you and go on writing. Why yes I think I will. Still on the home front I have to edit about 200 or so pics for my internship it sound harder than it really is it will take me about two hours that’s what 4 images per minute maybe well it sounded impressive in my head.
O shoot I almost forgot there are only THREE of us left in the IMBC now THREE , wow that went down realy fast it’s only been like a month and comicon is only ONE WEEK away…………come on the final THREE.

Hyper.............................hyper....hyper...look tacos......mik tacos
Finally got time to write this morning it’s been really busy so far which his great and I got a lot of work done so this isn’t really complaining it’s just informing. First I decided to be late to my 7:30 lab to sleep in a little only for about a half an hour but since I still I’m not getting any good sleep it really helps. I noticed that I’m starting to get bags under my eyes and all. Ok first off we watched the session premier of Farmer wants a wife last night just because me and heather are both country girls and city girls so we wanted to see how these “city” girls could handle the job. First off the farmer isn’t that hot I knew way hotter farmers then him in high school and second man these girls are stupid, one girl didn’t know rosters really crowed in the mornings and another was completely afraid of the chickens I can see being afraid of rosters but not chickens. Anyway it went on like usual reality shows went they kept the bitch of the group and eliminated one of the nice girl’s bla bla ba.
During most of the show I was doing my online class and I’m almost finished with it all I have left is the final and one more writing assignment this was the class that I was totally freaking over because I didn’t have the book for it but I just took the test a couple of times to get better grades now all I have to do is catch up in my Photoshop class or finish it then all I have to do is concentrate on my Dig two that I have been lacking on.
So this morning after I woke up I went into my lab and wrote the Photo Club blurb it wasn’t my best work but it got the job done. Then I have a shoot at 11:30 with the Imagecon Digital Hasselblad which I’m not really looking forward to, I just hope it gets over quick. After school I got to go shoot more for my internship since it’s actually a nice day then shoot for my dig two for my dusk architectural thingy. And after that we are going to try and catch techno night at elements again then we are off to the midnight premiere of IRON MAN yes I had to cap all of it come on its IRON MAN not only does it look like a rocking movie it looks like it fallow the comic book a little unlike the spider man movies cures you again……* shaking fist*….
Ok so I’m kind of full of energy but I’m getting hungry damn that half an hour more sleep really helped uh ow yea guess what it’s MAY which means that I have lasted a hole month in the IMBC and that comicon is only 10 more days away and that in 31 more days I’m turning twenty one.
May is the greatest month ever ok ok ok lets talk about the
Totd…..dan dan da………………………….
which is actually something somewhat interesting.
Who do you think killed JFK???????????????????????
Will I shouldn’t be saying this on the interwebs cus you know there always watching and I might end up dead in a matter of seconds….but I really think the government killed him…..don’t ask me why cus I’ll go into the hole controversy thing….. but I really think that the government had a lot to do with his death and that they have a lot to do with a lot of things but I’m a little to hyper right know so I’m just going to leave it as that and go see if I can get some food before my shoot.
